a) BRANCH MANAGER:
The Branch Manager is primarily responsible for operational efficiency and control for the business of a product in the country. Provides the first level of management leadership to the local team. A key part of the role is to control risks related to stock, credit and counterparty. Different types of BM roles that exist are:
- Exports BM – involved in Procurement, Processing
- Imports BM – involved in Distribution, Indenting
The ideal candidate will be an MBA from a leading school with 2-6 years managerial experience in sales / marketing / sourcing roles. Key competencies for this position includes:
- high levels of conceptual and analytical skills
- the ability to effectively lead a team to meet clearly defined goals
- strong planning and organisational skills, good administrative ability, attention to details
- effective relationship building skills, negotiation skills
b) PROFIT CENTRE HEAD (PCH):
The PCH is overall responsible for the bottom line of one or more products in a country. The person is entrusted with evolving strategies for profitable growth of the business based on in-depth understanding of the business environment, industry trends, local market dynamics and competitors. Key responsibility encompass critical functions for the business like risk management, human resources, systems development and control and funds management. The person is also responsible to provide leadership and drive culture and Olam values amongst the BM's and local team.
The ideal candidate will be an MBA from a premier institute with 7-14 years experience handling profit centre responsibilities, with an ability to:
- Be an entrepreneur and demonstrate strategic agility and thought leadership - create a strategic vision by embedding ambition, developing a sustainable competitive advantage and creating a winning strategy for the business.
- Demonstrate strong leadership, team-playing skills and institution building skills
- Strong conceptual and analytical ability
- High level of process orientationdegree of planning, organisational and administrative ability
- Strong outcome orientation, good decision making skills and attention to details.
c) COUNTRY HEAD
The Country Head's primary focus is to be sensitive and responsive to the local market. He/she plays three vital roles: the sensor and interpreter of local opportunities and threats, the builder of local resources and capabilities and the contributor to global strategy for the businesses in his country.
d) GLOBAL PRODUCT HEAD
The role of Global Business Head or PMH is to capture the full benefit of integrated world-wide operations by furthering global-scale efficiency, competitiveness and extracting synergies across different countries. They serve as the strategists for the businesses, as well as the allocators of its world-wide assets and resources.
e) FINANCE MANAGER / FINANCE CONTROLLER
The Finance person has direct responsibility for the accounts and finance function for one or more Profit Centers. The person is required to handle the entire financial and management accounts for a profit center, besides financial planning and funds management, forex management, risk management, systems and audit. Candidates should be chartered/cost accountants with 2-6 years experience (7-14 years for Financial Controllers), in a manufacturing/trading set-up and possessing very high levels of analytical, planning and organising, administrative and team-playing skills. |
