Olam was established in 1989 by the Kewalram Chanrai Group (KC Group).Over the past 18 years, Olam has grown from a single country, single product business into a global supply chain manager headquartered in Singapore with market leadership positions in many of its businesses. Today, we operate in 56 countries from where we source and supply 14 products to more than 4500 customers in 60 end-markets, employing more than 8000 people across these countries. Olam is listed on the main board of the Singapore Exchange and is a component stock of the benchmark Straits Times Index.
Board Structure
Our well diversified Board consists of 11 members, three of whom are Executive Directors and the other eight are Non-Executive Directors. We have four independent directors on our Board.
To assist the Directors in the discharge of their oversight function, Board Committees have been constituted with clear terms of reference. These are:
- Audit & Compliance Committee
- Finance & Investment Committee
- Risk Committee
- Governance and Nomination Committee
- Leadership Development and Compensation Committee and
- Corporate Responsibility and Sustainability Committee
All the committees are actively engaged and play an important role in ensuring best in class corporate governance practices in the Company.

Organisation Structure
Olam has a distinctive capacity to operate as one company even though it is highly diversified across 56 countries, 14 products, and 11 functions. Our ability to have a highly coordinated, cross functional and high performance organisation is driven by the way our Corporate Centre integrates our multiple businesses, geographies and functions. The Corporate Centre catalyses the integration of a multi-business company like ours by developing a shared vision and agenda, installing common operating systems and embedding a common culture and set of values across the organisation. Because of these shared systems, processes, culture and values, the whole of Olam is significantly greater than the sum of its parts.
